Police Investigating Murder In Washington Park

Police are investigating a murder after the body of male was found in Washington Park, Illinois.

Authorities said around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday police were requested to check on the well being of a 48-year-old male resident of 2220 North 52nd Street by family members.

When police entered the house they discovered the body of a black male who had been dead for several days. Police said evidence at the scene indicated the victim was murdered.

The victim’s name has not been released yet.

An autopsy will be conducted Thursday by the St. Clair County Coroner’s office.
