Once again, Allsup employees will take to the lanes to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois during the company’s annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser on Thursday, March 8. The event has grown so large that for the first time it will take place at two locations: St. Clair Bowl at 5950 Old Collinsville Road in Fairview Heights and Bel-Air Bowl at 200 S. Belt West in Belleville.

This year, Big Brothers Big Sisters will hold its annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraisers throughout the Metro East community in February and March. Funds raised will be used to recruit, screen, train and match adult volunteers with girls and boys through the nationally recognized mentoring program.

Barbara Cempura, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois, invites Metro East businesses to sponsor a Bowl for Kids’ Sake event and experience the reward of changing the life of a child. “Last year, Allsup raised $16,000 and the money helped us to match 35 children with mentors,” she said. “Allsup made a big difference in the community in one afternoon.

The Belleville-based company, which provides Social Security disability representation and Medicare plan selection services, has supported Big Brothers Big Sisters for more than 20 years with the bowling fundraiser and its annual Allsup Golf Classic held in August.

Kim Rist, Allsup human resources director, said Allsup team members make the most of the opportunity to support a good cause. “This is an event Allsup looks forward to every year,” she said. “There’s a festive spirit during this event that boosts our energy as a company. We see positive results all around.”

Allsup employees will comprise dozens of teams who will compete for prizes while wearing custom T-shirts. Free refreshments and music add to the upbeat mood of the event. Casual dress days for employees lead up to the event.
